Module 1: Non-formal skills awareness
Introduces the purpose of recognising non-formal maritime skills and competences.
Skills4Sea platform prototype
Skills4Sea aims to develop, implement and certify a standardised non-formal skills training framework for maritime professionals.
The platform supports workforce mobility, safety and employability by helping MET providers assess and evidence non-formal skills. It is not a complete LMS yet; it is a working prototype that shows how the Skills4Sea proposal can become a structured digital learning and assessment environment.
Enter the learner chapter path: theory briefing, scenario context, AI Captain exercise, reflection and portfolio evidence.
Open the lecturer workspace for institution-scoped classes, students, course assignments, submissions and review feedback.
Configure platform blocks, roles, institutions, scenarios, prompt versions and overall sandbox statistics.
Decision for the sandbox: modules are shown as cards for overview, and each module also contains a chapter menu inside the relevant Learner or Lecturer area. Learners and lecturers do not use the same AI area: the learner has the AI Captain scenario chapter, while the lecturer has separate class-management, progress and profile-review chapters.
Introduces the purpose of recognising non-formal maritime skills and competences.
Uses maritime communication and teamwork scenarios to evidence clear reporting and collaboration.
Prepares scenario blocks for judgement, escalation and operational decision-making.
Covers high-pressure maritime situations linked to crisis management and problem-solving.
Collects learner outputs into portfolio evidence, competence radar and spider-chart profile views.
